Phoenix Rising

This essence was made over a period of 10 days leading up to and until the morning after the solstice of December 2020 ( when Jupiter and Saturn made their once in 20 years conjunction and entered the sign of Aquarius, once every 200 years). It was made from the flower of the Bangalow Palm (Archontophoenix cunninghamiana), which flowered for the first time in over 20 years in the garden here on the slopes of Gulaga.

I love its botanical name, as the quality of this essence is just like the phoenix - rising from the ashes of the past renewed and reborn. It offers us the chance to let go of the past, our old emotional, psychological and physical habits, our long forgotten past traumas that have unconsciously informed our personality and behaviour, and begin again afresh. This is both on the personal and the collective levels.

We have reached a tipping point ecologically and socially on the planet and we need to rise above our old destructive ways of thinking and being. As Greta Thunberg says- " No one is too small to make a difference."

By disentangling from our past we open to new possibilities from the macro to the universal. The quality of the essence is like the warmth of the sun shining into us, rejuvenating, healing and inspiring us to move forward unencumbered by the past. As the astrologer Brian Clark says: "… the earth and its resources are stretched to breaking point. Planetary alignments are illustrating the calamitous climate, but with input, innovation, integrity, vision and a restoration of human values, the end can become the beginning, the promise of all planetary conjunctions."
